Silverstone and Circuit of Wales announce 2015 British MotoGP™ Tickets on sale today

Following the announcement last week regarding the British round of the MotoGP™ World Championship in 2015 and 2016, the Circuit of Wales and Silverstone have confirmed that tickets for this year’s event will go on sale at midday today, Monday 16 February.

A ‘Welcome Back’ ticket will be available to purchase until the end of March.  The ‘Welcome Back’ ticket prices are cheaper than both the previous 2015 early bird offer and Silverstone’s own 2014 MotoGP™ prices, with a family of four now able to attend the whole weekend from only £140.

A ‘Welcome Back’ adult race day ticket will cost £60, with a Welcome Back adult weekend ticket costing just an extra £10, at £70. Children aged 10 and under can also attend the weekend free of charge.

Commenting on the pricing strategy, Patrick Allen, Silverstone’s Managing Director said, “I believe the Welcome Back ticket will see those fans that may have been put off by increasing prices returning to the event. We know that MotoGP™ has a large family following and the rationale of making under 11’s free of charge is to appeal to those families.  The event date of 30 August coincides nicely with the end of the school summer holidays and we are planning a fantastic weekend of entertainment to support the on-track action and deliver a great fun filled experience for the spectators – young and old.”

Chris Herring, Event Director for the Circuit of Wales commented, “We have worked closely with Patrick and the team at Silverstone to give fans a great introductory ‘Welcome Back’ price for this years British MotoGP™. The new management at Silverstone share our vision for MotoGP™ in the UK and we want to attract a wider audience to the race weekend and appeal to families over the August Bank Holiday.”

Herring added, “We want to demonstrate to the fans in the UK that we are committed to the long-term future of the event and this ticketing strategy, together with our joint marketing plans for the event will ensure we deliver a great festival of racing and entertainment at MotoGP 2015.”
