NOTICE OF DEATH - JEREMY 'JEM' MARSH - 1930 - 2015

It is with regret that the Club has to announce the death of Associate Member Jem Marsh who has passed away on 2 March at the age of 84.  Jem is best known as a co-founder of the sports-car manufacturer Marcos.  Jackie Stewart, Jackie Oliver, Derek Bell and Jonathan Palmer all raced Marcos sports cars in their early days.  In the ex-Jackie Stewart Marcos, which had a wooden chassis designed by Frank Costin, Jem won the 1978 Classic Sports Car Championship and in 1980 he won the Thoroughbred Sports Car Championship in the same car. 

Condolences have been sent to Jem’s wife, Lynn.  A full obituary will appear in the Bulletin.

A Celebration of Life Service for Jem will be held at The Holy Trinity Church, Church Street, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire at 2.30pm on Friday 20 March 2015.  There will be refreshments afterwards at Cumberwell Park Golf Club, Bradford on Avon BA15 2PQ.
