BRDC Members, SuperStars and Rising Stars were again on top form at the weekend and featured on the podium in the Formula One World Championship, the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the GP3 Series, the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC and the IMSA WeatherTech SprotsCar Championship. The Club would like to congratulate the following drivers on their podium success:

Formula One World Championship at Red Bull Ring
Sebastian Vettel (Honorary Member) - 3rd

FIA Formula 2 Championship at Red Bull Ring
George Russell (SuperStar) - 1st in race one and 2nd in race two
Lando Norris (SuperStar) - 2nd in race one

GP3 Series at Red Bull Ring
Callum Ilott (SuperStar) - 1st in race one
Jake Hughes (SuperStar) - 1st in race two

Formula Renault 2.0 NEC at Monza
Max Fewtrell (Rising Star) - 2nd in race one

IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Watkins Glen
Nick Tandy (Full Member) - 3rd in GTLM class
Katherine Legge (Full Member) - 2nd in GTD class

This coming weekend, there will be BRDC Members and Young Drivers competing in the following categories:

  • FIA Formula One World Championship, FIA Formula 2 Championship, GP3 Series, Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and FIA Masters Historic Championship at Silverstone
  • The Le Mans Classic at Le Mans
  • IndyCar Series at Iowa
  • Japanese Super Formula Championship at Fuji
  • International GT Open and TCR Europe Series at Hungaroring
  • 24 Hour International Endurance Series at Portimao
  • IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Mosport

We have just learned from Tim Schenken in Australia the sad news that Life Member Neil Crang died on the 20th July at the age of 70.
The Club Office has just learned that one of our oldest Members, Mike Oliver, died last Wednesday, 15th July. He was 99 years old and had been a Full Member since 1949.
As many Members may have already heard, Ron Tauranac passed away peacefully in his sleep on 17 July. He was 95 years of age and had been an Honorary Member of the BRDC since 1971.
