PIERRE AUMONIER FUNERAL DETAILS

The BRDC office has received details of the funeral of former Club Secretary, Pierre Aumonier, who passed away on Sunday 30 August following a short illness.

The service will take place at Northampton Crematorium on Thursday 17 September 2009 at 2pm for close friends only. A celebration of Pierre's life will take place at a later date at Silverstone.

A request has been made for no flowers, but if you would like to make a donation in his memory, the British Heart Foundation is the charity chosen.

Pierre played a key role in the administration of motor sport in the UK over four decades and in addition to being Secretary of the BRDC between 1979 and 1991 and a Director of Silverstone Circuits, he was Secretary to the Meeting for the British Grand Prix and President of the FIA Sports Car Commission for many years.

He was also a Race Steward at Spa, Nürburgring, Hockenheim and Kassel Kalden plus a representative on the committee of the RAC Motor Sports Association and organising committees of the European Saloon Car Championship, the Formula Two Alliance and the Trans-Europe Trophy.
