BRDC MEMBERS' PODIUM ROUNDUP 04-02-2019

In an impressive start to the 2019 season, 10 different race events around the world have featured BRDC Members and Young Drivers on the podium. The result of some particularly strong performances by BRDC Member Paul Di Resta and Rising Star Phil Hanson, and BRDC Member Sam Bird mean that they are currently leading the Asian Le Mans Series and FIA Formula E Championship respectively. The Club would also like to congratulate the following drivers on their recent podium success:

Friday 11 to Sunday 13 January

FIA Formula E Championship in Marrakesh
Sam Bird (Full Member) - 3rd

FIA Formula 3 Asian Championship Winter Series at Buriram
Dan Ticktum (SuperStar) - 2nd in race three

Toyota Racing Series New Zealand at Highlands
Raoul Hyman (Rising Star) - 2nd in race two and 3rd in race three

24 Hour International Endurance Series in Dubai
Charlie Eastwood (SuperStar) - 1st in 991 class

Asian Le Mans Series at Buriram
Paul Di Resta (Full Member) and Phil Hanson (Rising Star) - 1st
Harrison Newey (SuperStar) - 2nd
Colin Noble (Rising Star) - 3rd in LMP3 class

FIA Formula E Championship in Santiago
Sam Bird (Full Member) - 1st

Toyota Racing Series New Zealand at Hampton Downs
Raoul Hyman (Rising Star) - 2nd in race two

IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Daytona
Fernando Alonso (Honorary Member) - 1st
Ben Hanley (Full Member) - 3rd in LMP2 class
Earl Bamber (Full Member) - 3rd in GTLM class

Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 February

Intercontinental GT Challenge at Bathurst
Jake Dennis (Full Member) - 2nd
Ben Barker (Full Member) - 1st in B class
Chris van der Drift (Full Member) - 2nd in B class

Toyota Racing Series New Zealand at Taupo
Raoul Hyman (Rising Star) - 3rd in race two

This coming weekend, there will be BRDC Members and Young Drivers competing in the following categories:

  • MRF Formula 2000 Challenge Championship in Chennai
  • Toyota Racing Series New Zealand at Manfield
