BRDC SUMMER RACES
SILVERSTONE NATIONAL CIRCUIT
SUNDAY 12th JUNE 2005

The BRDC Summer Races at Silverstone produced some of the best racing action seen at the venue for a long time.
A packed ten-race programme organised by the Club Racing section of the British Racing Drivers' Club, delivered top quality action to a sizeable crowd that had gathered for the second annual event.

With race content centred mainly on historic cars, the spotlight fell on competitors from the BRDC Historic Sportscar Championship to lead the way - and lead they did.

Graeme Dodd in his Cooper Monaco, won both the Stowe House Trophy and the Duncan Hamilton Trophy, with determined drives against stiff opposition from Philip Walker (Lotus 15) and Julian Bronson (Lister Corvette).

Jamie McIntyre, driving his Mark Lewis-prepared Rejo MkIV, continued his 1100cc success in the series, scoring two class victories to continue his 100% record in the series.

With the Clubmans Register using the day as their 40th Anniversary meeting, two races for their cars were held under the Haggis Memorial Trophy. Ray Mallock and Dan Eagling were triumphant, while Chris Woodgate won the Parnell Trophy for Aston Martins, and Robin Longdon the BRDC Formula Junior Challenge Race.

F3 cars were catered for by way of events for Classic and 1000cc cars. Alex Ames scored victory in his Chevron in the Jack Brabham Trophy for Classic F3 cars, receiving his trophy on the podium from Buckingham Town and AVDC councillor, Derrick Isham.

Richard Urwin (Brabham) won the Peter Hanson Trophy for the 1000cc cars.
