Career Description

Early fifties successful in MGTC special and rallying (1951 NSW Champion Navigator to Peter Antill)

  • 1955 2nd Hyeres 12-hours in prod' DB35 co-driving with Tony Gaze (BRDC) (France)
  • 1958 Aust Sportscar Champion - Bathurst - ex works DB35 Aston (ex-Moss)
  • 1960 Aust Touring Car Champion - Crange - MKI3.4 Jaguar. 
  • 1963 NSW Road Racing Champion - Katoomba - Brabham - Climax 2.5 (ex-Brabham).
  • 1959 founded Scuderia Veloce and in sixties ran my cars for G Hill and J Y Stewart (Brabham climaxes and Ferrari LM250) with success and finally for C Amon (Ferrari P4).  Led daily telegraph team of Holden McNaros in 1968 London - Sydney marathon - no success.   (12th, 14th, and DNF ) 

Pioneered oil company sponsorship in Australia (Ampol '57 -'59, castrol '60-'62 Shell '63-'66) and managed Holden's first entry into racing at Bathurst '68.  Held Bathurst outright lap record '63-'66.
