BRDC Superstar Oliver Turvey is set to collect a unique accolade today in the BRDC Clubhouse. He will receive the very first Cambridge Blue to be awarded for motor sport. The presentation will be made at Silverstone by the Secretary of the University Men's Blues Committee, Dr John Little, and will take place in front of Damon Hill OBE, President of the BRDC of which Oliver is a Full Member, John Surtees OBE, Ambassador for the Racing Steps Foundation who also support Turvey and Martin Hines who played a huge part in Oliver's earlier Karting Career.
Oliver has managed to juggle the pressures of his driving achievements along side with his studies a Fitzwilliam College and aims to return to Cambridge to complete a Master's dissertation on F1 aerodynamics. His visiting professor Tony Purnell who is a former head of F1 Jaguar/Red BullRacing and now advisor to the FIA says " This will give him an 'unfair advantage' as Formula 1 stars to use hybrid and emission-reducing technology."
