Marcus Chambers competed successfully in Trials, Hill Climbs, International Sports Car Races and Rallies from 1931 - 1960.
This included:
1936:
- Bentley Drivers Handicap, Brooklands: 3rd overall.
1938:
- RAC Tourist Trophy, Donnington: 2nd in class driving an HRG.
- Le Mans 24hr: 10th overall, 1st in 1.5 litre class.
Mr Chambers was Chairman, Motor Sport Committee, of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Motor Traders 1964-70. He was also the British Representative on the Sporting Sub Committee, at the Bureau Permanent des Constructeurs d'Automobiles, 1966-70.
Author of two books, "Seven Year Twitch", 1962 and "Works Wonders", 1995. He has also written extensively on motor sport and travel for specialist magazines.
He is a member of the Vintage Sports Car Club and the BRDC.
