Having started in rallying in 1991 with a Vauxhall Astra, Phil Bennett moved to the race track in 1993 with a single season in 100cc TKM karting. The following three seasons saw a move back to club rallying with a variety of equipment before a final move to circuit racing in 1998.
1998 - BRSCC Super Coupe Cup - 2nd Rover 216 GTi and Mintex driver of the year award.
1999 - Renault Spider Cup - 3rd with Mardi Gras Motorsport
2000 - National Saloon Car Cup - one off in Honda Integra with Mardi Gras, 6th
2001 - British Touring Car Championship - 4th with 888/Egg Vauxhall, 3 wins, 3 pole positions
2002 - BTCC - Team Petronas
2003 - BTCC - Team Petronas, 24 hours of Nurburgring - Raeder Motorsport
2004 - Le Mans Endurance Series - Saleen S7-R
2005 - Le Mans Endurance Series, Sebring 12hr, Le Mans 24hr, Petit Le Mans - LMP2 Courage/Judd. FIA GT Spa 24hr RML Saleen S7-R
