Career Description

|
Starting motor racing with a Kieft 500cc competing in a series of races for a period of twelve months, before switching to an 1172 Formula car known as 'Min 1' - named after the famous 'Goon Show'. In 1966 Syd purchased a 1275cc Mini Cooper S contesting rallies for the South Bucks Motor Club - before arriving at Silverstone as an employee in 1969, where he became known throughout motorsport as 'Silverstone Syd'.
