John Cardwell is a Life Member of the BRDC, and was elected in 1964.
John made a name for himself racing in Formula 3 events during the mid-1960s. He scored numerous successes in the category, including podium finishes at Aintree and Silverstone and Oulton Park.
John drove in F3 and F2 between 1964-1968, with two years being spent with the Ron Harris Team Lotus. John finished third in the 1966 Monaco F3 race and second at Monza in 1965 - again in F3. John also raced various saloon and sports cars during his career.
