Brian Heath qualified for associate membership of the Club through being Competition Manager of the Avon Rubber Company during the late 1950's and 1960's.  He was responsible for looking after its racing tyre interests of the company during their connection with Aston Martin Ltd (also Norton, Honda, Gilena, MV, Suzuki and Yamaha motor cycle factory teams).  He won associated with Aston martin durign their most successful period in motorsport, which culminated in their winning its World Sportscar Championship.  Subsequently he has regularly competed in historic motor racing with a Le Mans replica Frazer Nash and other cars and is still active in this branch of the sport.  Since 1992 has has been editor of the month motoring magazine "The Automobile".
