It is with regret that the Club has to announce the death of Vice President, Henry Taylor who passed away on Thursday 24 October 2013.

Henry joined the Club in 1957 and served as a BRDC Director from 1992 to 2000 and was made a Vice President when he stepped down from the Board.

Henry started his racing career in speedway before switching to a 500cc Formula Three Cooper in 1954. He won two Formula Three Championships in 1955 and went on to drive sports cars, (and enjoyed success in a Jaguar D-Type). Henry participated in 11 Formula One championship races as well as a number of non championship races. After a serious accident at the 1961 British Grand Prix, Henry turned away from single seaters and took up rallying. Finally retiring from active motor sports in 1965 Henry became Ford’s Competition Manager.

Condolences have been sent to his wife, Peggy.  Henry's funeral will take place in France on Thursday 31 October.
