MEET AMABA FINALIST TAYLOR BARNARD

Hailing from Norwich, Taylor Barnard spent 2023 racing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Jenzer Motorsport, scoring his maiden victory at Spa-Francorchamps. Taking three podiums across the year, the 19-year-old finished tenth in the standings in just his third season of car racing.

He started karting at eight years of age, after watching his dad racing and wanting to try it out himself. Impressing in the Trent Valley Kart Club, he quickly moved onto success in the Super 1 National Championship and won the Kartmasters British Grand Prix on two occasions.

Moving into Europe, he won the OK Junior class at the WSK Final Cup and joined Nico Rosberg’s academy. Adding more trophies as he rose through the ranks, Taylor made his car racing debut in 2020, taking in three rounds of the Italian F4 Championship, and raced a partial ADAC Formula 4 campaign the following season.

In 2022 he took a win in the F4 UAE Championship and raced dual campaigns in Italy and Germany, taking five wins and ten podiums to become runner up in the latter. This year he scored two wins and finished runner up in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship before his FIA F3 campaign, scoring that memorable first win at Spa, while the rounds at Silverstone were his first laps of the famous British Grand Prix venue.

Taylor’s motorsport hero is Ayrton Senna and one of his biggest influences is his dad, who having run out of money early in his own career, worked hard to give his son the best opportunities possible as he started out in motorsport.
