BRDC MEMBERS MAY 30-31 ROUND-UP
DTM and the Indy Racing League saw the most success for BRDC Members over the weekend of May 30-31.
BRDC Full Member Gary Paffett worked the pit stop window perfectly at the Lausitzring Eurospeedway to record his first victory in the DTM championship for two years.
There were two more BRDC Full Members in the top six with Paul di Resta taking a superb fourth place and Jamie Green in sixth in their AMG Mercedes.
BRDC Honorary Member Tom Kristensen was 12th, but there was no placing for Full Member Oliver Jarvis in the Audi as he failed to finish.
Andy Priaulx recorded two top six finishes at Valencia in the latest round of the World Touring Car Championship.
The BRDC Full Member finished race one in fifth place while race two saw him take fourth after an epic battle with Gabriele Tarquini.
Fellow BRDC Full Member Rob Huff finished 22nd in both races. His first race saw him tangle with Mehdi Bennani seeing him return to the pits for the team to see to the damage. He visited the pits once again for a drive through penalty. Race two saw a second 22nd place finish, 43 seconds off the winner.
There was a double podium for BRDC Full Members at Milwaukee in the latest round of the Indianapolis Racing League with Ryan Briscoe just missing out on victory and Dario Franchitti taking the final podium place in third.
Dan Wheldon, another BRDC Full Member, just snuck inside the top ten while BRDC Full Member Justin Wilson was 15th.
In the Indy Lights race, BRDC Rising Star Martin Plowman finished 15th for Panther Racing.
Sam Bird recorded his second podium of the season at the second weekend of the Formula 3 Euro Series at the Eurospoeedway Lausitz by claiming a third in race two.
The BRDc Full Member was fifth in race one, while Rising Star Brendon Hartley had two fourth place finishes. BRDC Superstar and Full Member Alexander Sims did not finish the first race but managed to finish the second in 22nd place.
Rounds five and six of the British GT Championship were at Rockingham over the weekend and the best result from BRDC Members came courtesy of Rising Star Aaron Scott who was fourth in the second race on Sunday with co-driver Craig Wilkins.
Also racing were BRDC Full Member Michael Bentwood, who was ninth and Rising Star Nigel Moore who was 11th.
Earlier in the day Michael finished seventh in a Ginetta G50 while Nigel was eighth. Aaron failed to finish the first race.
